Networking activities and H2020 training for Eastern Partnership Energy experts in the Energy Days Graz 2016

IncoNet EaP supported the participation of Eastern Partnership energy experts (sepcialists in solar technology, photovoltaic, heating and cooling, and ecological building material) in the Energy Days Graz, an international Energy Efficiency brokerage event. The event was organised by the ICS (Internationalisation Center Styria) in cooperation with its partner SFG (Styrian Business Promotion Agency).

On 13 January RCISD provided a Horizon 2020 training back-to-back with the brokerage event for the experts from the Eastern Partnership.

On the morning of 14 January, the Eastern Partnership researchers participated in a Roundtable on 'Renewable Energy R&D' organised by Enterprise Europe Network, Eco World Styria and SFG (Styrian Business Promotion Agency). The participants from the Eastern Partnership countries and Austria introduced their institutions, outlined their specific fields of interest and presented projects for which they are looking for potential partners.

The workshop presentations addressed the following topics:

  • General introduction and advice on proposal writing
  • H2020: The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation
  • Preparation of a proposal
  • Proposal submission process: the European Commission's Participant Portal and project proposal templates
  • New Work Programmes 2016-2017: Societal Challenge 3 – 'Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy' and Societal Challenge 5 – 'Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials'

Some of the Eastern Partnership experts had already participated in a previous similar training in Amsterdam (Aquamatch; November 2015). Their feedback appreciated the fact that the current training also included useful advice on how to find the best partners, how proposals are evaluated and how to tackle the most common problems in proposal writing.

The training closed with a ‘questions and answers’ and discussion session.
