High-level Seminar in Research and Innovation Policy

The IncoNet EaP project is preparing a high level seminar for senior experts in research policy making to be held in Vienna from 16-20 February 2015. The course is aiming at participants who perform senior roles (e.g. heads of units) in ministries, agencies or councils in the field of research, technology and innovation.
The topics of the workshop have not yet been fixed in order to accommodate the preferences of the participants. Nevertheless, some pre-selection was made in order to steer the rough thematic orientation of the event.

Suggested topics:

  • International cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation - with an emphasis on cooperation with the European Union (Horizon 2020; coordinated calls etc.) and the EU Member States
  • Theoretical foundations for STI policy
  • STI policy paradigms
  • STI policy mixes
  • Innovation support instruments and programmes
  • Policy instruments for technology transfer and IPR frameworks
  • Measurement of R&D and innovation
  • Assessment of the performance of research organisation and instruments for steering a more competitive R&D development
  • Foresight as an instrument for Science, Technology and Innovation Policies

It is planned to offer a limited number of persons from each of th Eastern Partnership countries (i.e. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine) the opportunity to take part in this one-week seminar.

The working language of the workshop will be English.
