    Workshop on 'Identifying and Engaging the Scientific Diaspora from EaP Countries'

    The IncoNet EaP project is conducting a mapping study on the scientific disapora from Eastern Partnership countries, which will be presented and discussed in a workshop on 30th June/01st July in Vienna, Austria. The key questions of the study are: How to get access to the scientific diaspora from EaP countries? How to make use of the scientific diaspora from EaP countries to increase the STI cooperation between EU and EaP countries?

    Eastern Partnership STI Evaluation Platform Meeting

    On 27-28 June 2016, the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation hosted an international workshop on the 'Eastern Partnership Science, Technology and Innovation Evaluation Platform'. The event was planned as part of the IncoNet EaP Project. The main goal of the platform was to facilitate the exchange among the participating organisations exploring the potential of evaluation in the STI domain and to set concrete actions that facilitate learning from current practice and improved utilization of the potential of STI evaluation.

    Summer School on 'Energy Efficiency: International Project Management – from Theory to Practice' held in Vienna

    The IncoNet Eap Summer School on 'Energy Efficiency: International Project Management – from Theory to Practice' was held between 13-17 June 2016 in Vienna under the co-organisation of ZSI and TUBITAK. 24 participants, with academic, NGO, and private sector backgrounds, attended the summer school. They came from 18 different countries, the majority of them from the Eastern Partnership region.

    Training for National Contact Points (NCPs) in Belarus: Horizon 2020 – Partner Search Tools

    On 10 June 2016 a training for Horizon 2020 National Contact Points (NCPs) took place in Minsk. The event focused on partner search with the help of most widely used electronic tools for this purpose - CORDIS, EEN and Idealist. The training was organised by the 'Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support for Scientific and Technical Sphere' (BelISA) and the Business Cooperation Centre of the Enterprise Europe Network  (EEN Belarus) and supported by the EU funded IncoNet EaP project.

    Horizon 2020 Association Launching Workshop and Info Day in Armenia

    The Horizon 2020 Association Launching Workshop and Information Day devoted to Armenia's association to the European Union Framework Programme on Research and Innovation HORIZON 2020 was held on 2-3 June 2016, at the conference hall of Matenadaran in Yerevan. The main objective of the events was to present to the Armenian authorities and STI stakeholders the additional opportunities arising from association of Armenia to the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme.

    Horizon 2020 Info Day on 'Climate Change', 'Energy' and 'Health' related issues

    With the support of the IncoNet EaP project the `2nd Info Day on Horizon 2020: Climate Change, Energy, Health´ was held on the premises of the Qafqaz University and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences from 1-2 June 2016. The two day event was organised by the International Relations Department of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

    Horizon 2020 Association Workshop held in Georgia

    On 31 May 2016, a workshop about Georgia’s association with Horizon 2020, the EU's framework programme for research and innovation, was held at the Ministry of Education and Science. The event was organised by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the practical aspects of participation in Horizon 2020 by Georgian scientists with policy makers and organisations from the field of technology and innovation.

    Horizon 2020 Information Day and NCP Workshop

    On 30 May 2016, an EU Research and Innovation Framework Programme Horizon 2020 information day and NCP workshop took place in Tbilisi, Georgia. The event hosted a wide range of participants and speakers from the European Commission, EU Delegation to Georgia, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, European Investment Bank InnovFin programme, National contact points from Georgia as well as from the Horizon 2020 associated countries. Scientists and innovators from Georgia, representatives of various research institutions, universities and SMEs attended the information day.

    Expert Group Meetings for Recommendations on EU-EaP Science, Technology & Innovation Cooperation in 'Health' and 'Climate Change'

    The FP7-funded Projects IncoNet CA and IncoNet EaP organised a series of Expert Group Meetings. The meetings were part of an evaluation of the outcomes of the major activities in three topics, namely: Health, Climate Change and Energy, addressed by the IncoNet CA and IncoNet EaP projects. In addition, the Expert Group Meetings aimed to provide recommendations for the future of EU-CA and EU-EaP cooperation in these fields. To that purpose, one Expert Group Meeting for each topic was organised for each of the two target regions 'Eastern Partnership' and 'Central Asia', making it six workshops altogether.

    Three Webinars for NCP Structures in CA and EaP Countries

    The IncoNet EaP and IncoNet CA projects jointly organised a small series of webinars to enhance the capacities of Horizon 2020 National Contact Points in the Eastern Partnership and Central Asian Counries. The last webinar in this series focused on the 'Participant Portal', the single-entry point to interact with the Research Programmes of the European Commission, which offers tools to manage and monitor proposals and projects.

    Workshop: 'From Innovation Performance Assessment to Innovation Policies'

    One of the tasks of the IncoNet EaP project is to explore chances and challenges for an extension of the EU´s European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS) activities to Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries. A related Workshop entitled 'From Innovation Performance Assessment to Innovation Policies' was held in Yerevan, Armenia, on 3-4 May 2016, organised by National Academy of Sciences of Armenia together with involved project partners ZSI (Austria) and SPI (Portugal).

    Policy Stakeholders Conference on 'EU-EaP STI cooperation in addressing Health'

    The third Policy Stakeholders Conference organised by the IncoNet EaP project took place in Budapest on 19-20 April 2016. The conference addressed 'Health' as a focus area of EU-Eastern Partnership Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation. The main aim of the Policy Stakeholders Conferences was to bring together policy makers, representatives of the research community and the private sector to address specific problems that countries in the region face and that are of mutual interest and benefit.

    Grant Scheme to facilitate the participation of EaP countries in Brokerage Events - call closed

    This grant scheme financially supports the participation of local researchers from Eastern Partnership countries in brokerage events related to Horizon2020 in the EU Member States or Associated Countries. The thematic priorities of the call are the three Societal Challenges targeted by the projects, namely 'Health', 'Energy' and 'Climate Change'. Maximun funding per grant is 3000 EUR.
